Eric Brassil '04
Eric Brassil graduated from Washington & Lee University in 2004. He is a public diplomacy coned Foreign Service Officer. Eric joined the State Department in 2006 as an Office Management Specialist (OMS). In his first tour in New Zealand, Eric led the Ambassador's support team, served as primary liaison between the Ambassador and Mission sections, and coordinated with Public Affairs to plan a schedule of 15 domestic trips and five international trips. From 2009-2011, Eric served as the OMS in the Political Section at U.S. Embassy Moscow, where he provided primary logistical support to over 100 high-level delegations, including a visit from President Obama, Vice President Biden and two from then Secretary Clinton. From 2011-2014, Eric served at the OMS Business Practice Advisor and Engagement Coordinator for the State Department Office of eDiplomacy. In this role, he was recognized at one of 25 "Rising Stars" in the federal government by Federal Computing Weekly and in 2014 was recognized as the OMS of the Year by Secretary Kerry. From July 2015-December 2016 Eric served as the OMS to the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Athens, Greece. In January 2017, Eric was commissioned as a Foreign Service Officer. He is currently serving his first tour as a Generalist in Kathmandu Nepal, with his wife, fellow W&L alum Aniesa Brassil (Bosch) ‘04.
