Mercy Kibe '11
Mercy is a Kenyan-American third-year medical student at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine. Prior to medical school, Mercy took a gap year to conduct research with a neurobiology lab at UAB. The year off was an invaluable experience and Mercy is happy to discuss the benefits of taking time off before medical school with any interested students.
She is currently based in Rwanda as a Doris Duke International Clinical Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School. This fellowship allows US based medical students to take a year out of medical school to conduct clinical research abroad.
