Planning Your Visit

Before you arrive, we recommend viewing our building hours, directions and parking information, group tours, as well as our visitation policies below.

Hours and Directions

Visitors may park in the Lee Chapel Visitor Lot located at 100 N. Jefferson Street and walk to any of our sites. A campus map is available online for walking directions. If you are traveling by motor coach, there is no available parking in the Lee Chapel Visitor Lot. Riders may be discharged on Jefferson Street in front of the entrance and handicapped individuals may be discharged at the top of Letcher Avenue. Please contact the Lexington Visitor Center at (540) 463-3777 for suggested bus parking.

Due to the role our museums play within the University, we strongly suggest you schedule a group visit if possible. Operation hours are subject to last-minute changes, which will be posted on Facebook and Instagram.

Summer Hours (April 1 - October 31)
Monday - Saturday 9:00AM - 5:00PM
Sunday 1:00PM - 5:00PM
Tours are given throughout the day in the auditorium on a rolling basis. During summer hours, the last tour will begin at 4:30 P.M.
Winter Hours (November 1 - March 31)
Monday - Saturday 9:00AM - 4:00PM
Sunday 1:00PM - 4:00PM

Group Tours

Group visits are offered year-round, but require a reservation made two weeks in advance. Groups can visit the Lee Chapel and Museum, the Reeves Museum of Ceramics, and Watson Galleries. Museum staff members are more than happy to assist you with crafting the perfect experience!

If you are planning to bring a group, we ask that you consider a donation of $4 per adult and $2 per child. Donations support museum operations and can ensure museum services for future visitors. Donations can be made at the time of your visit and given to the museum shop. If you wish to donate using a check, please make the check out to Washington and Lee University.

Groups that want to visit other sites in Lexington as well as the W&L museums should contact the Lexington Visitor Center at (540) 463-3777. The Visitor Center will arrange your itinerary for free and provide a step-on guide for a fee.
