Teaching with the Collections

The Museums at W&L seeks to facilitate the cross-disciplinary use of the museums’ collections by creating partnerships that enhance the curriculum. Staff members are happy to arrange handling sessions, lectures, and/or a tour for visiting classes.

Enhancing the Curriculum

Teaching with the Museums does not require art or historical expertise. If you are looking to reinforce skills such as writing or close observation, adding a material culture component to class content, taking a break from the classroom, or all the above, we can help! We can facilitate your class visit or lead discussions with your students at the Reeves Museum of Ceramics, University Chapel & Galleries, and Watson Galleries.

Open Hours
  • Wednesday – Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • The McCarthy Gallery in Holekamp Hall is open Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
