Museums Student Engagement Committee
The Museums Student Engagement Committee (MSEC) at W&L was established in December 2023 to strengthen the connection between the student body and the W&L Art Museum and Galleries (AMG). The student committee plays a pivotal role in ensuring that AMG remains a vibrant, relevant, and engaging space for learning and social interaction. By serving as a bridge between students and AMG, MSEC members provide valuable insights into what students want and expect from their campus museum, helping to shape programming, exhibitions, and events that resonate with their peers.
Comprising a diverse group of students from various class years, MSEC brings together students passionate about the arts, history, and culture. These members are dedicated to fostering an interdisciplinary appreciation of the museum’s collections and are committed to promoting the museum’s mission across the campus. The committee serves as a voice for the student body, advising museum staff on how to better engage with students and make the museum’s resources more accessible and appealing to them.
