FAQs

The idea of re-doing a celebration for the 16 classes who missed in-person reunions in 2020 and 2021 involves so many alumni that we could not simply add you all to our spring Alumni Weekend. Therefore, this celebration needs to be a standalone event. W&L, VMI, VA Horse Center, and customary Lexington events are all trying to play catch-up on missed events, along with dozens of weddings that were postponed due to the pandemic. Lexington is small enough that very few of these large events can be staged on the same weekend—local resources (hotels, catering, event venues) are limited. The W&L University calendar is mostly full each year due to our typical activities and events: academic, student activities, admissions, athletics, various boards, lecture/speaker series, and annual official University events, are all vying for time and space to execute programming. As a result, there are very few weekends that were not already booked. March 18-19, 2022 was free on the University Calendar and offered hotel and other accommodation availability Consequently, we are excited to plan this important re-do at that time.

No. We do not anticipate it being as involved or structured as a typical Alumni Weekend. We are looking at this as a celebratory event that will run from Friday afternoon through Saturday night and give these 16 classes an opportunity to come back to Lexington and see the university and old friends. As we plan the agenda for the weekend, we will post updates on this website.

Yes, we anticipate there being a registration fee. More details to come.

No. This has not been done for many years. All hotels are on a first-come first-served basis.
