Chapter Volunteer Resources

Chapter Volunteer Resources

Chapter leadership and volunteer roles afford a wide range of likely time commitments. All chapters have a President, most have a Secretary, Social Chair, and Alumni Admissions Chair (AAP). Active chapter volunteering is an important and enjoyable experience.

Healthy chapters stage a wide variety of events, with the Alumni Engagement Office helping as much as needed with planning, pricing, invitations, and promotions.

The Alumni Admissions Program interviews prospective students and helps sell W&L to the best and brightest.

Every healthy chapter has a good leader and/or board. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact your current chapter president or call our Alumni Engagement Office (alumni@wlu.edu) at 540-458-8464.

All chapters are encouraged to host events each year like: a "Summer Send-Off" for returning and new students, a Presidents' Day event to celebrate our namesakes, a "Yield Party" for accepted but undecided high school students, or a "Signature Event" tied to that community.

Below are a few examples of creative event ideas that have provided a great environment for networking, fun, and community engagement.

The Denver Annual Ski Outing
The Washington DC Breakfast Networking Series
Philadelphia Summer Send-off at a Philadelphia Phillies game
New England Clambake
Baltimore Zollman's North Party
