Redesign Timeline

Phase 1: January - April 2013

Launch of new design on wlu.edu and other top-level sites (About W&L, Academics, Admissions & Financial Aid, Campus Life, News & Media and Support W&L)

Launch of first departmental redesigns (Career Development Center, Williams School and Music Department)

Phase 2: May - August 2013

Further rollout of departmental redesigns. Academic departments and websites serving external audiences will receive priority in the migration process.



Beginning in 2013, Web Communications will begin a sitewide redesign of wlu.edu. The project will start with the University homepage and other top-level pages (global navigation) and roll out gradually to departments across campus.

Benefits of the redesign:

  • New design will be completely responsive and optimized for all desktop and mobile devices
  • New design will be ADA-accessible
  • Updated look and feel, additional functionality
  • Complete site audit will help to eliminate outdated and unused content
