Erika Vaughn

Erika VaughnErika Vaughn (Chattanooga, TN) became interested in studying Latin America after attending a Spanish immersion camp in the summer of 2006 in Minnesota, headed up by counselors from various Latin American countries. The exposure to their differences and similarities, as well as her love for the Spanish language, fed her growing desire to better understand the cultures sharing this hemisphere. At W&L she focused her LACS studies on the archaeology of the Americas and was highly involved in ESOL, both as a volunteer (Translations Chair and lead General Chair in '12) as well as the work-study student, charged with researching matters on English, Spanish, and TESOL, among others.  She was recognized by the LACS faculty in 2012 as the recipient of the LACS Senior Award.
