Lee Chapel Calendar

Hours of Operation:
Lee Chapel will close to the public as necessitated by University needs or weather.
NORMAL HOURS:
April 1-Oct. 31; Mon-Sat. 9-5, Sun. 1-5
Nov. 1-March 31: Mon-Sat. 9-4, Sun. 1-4
CLOSED: Thanksgiving Day thru Thanksgiving Saturday; Christmas Eve through New Years; Easter Sunday and Fourth of July.
GROUPS: Groups please schedule in advance by calling 540-458-8768.
Because of the Chapel's role in University events, always call ahead to verify hours.
Location and Directions:
- Street Address for Lee Chapel parking lot is 100 North Jefferson Street.
- GPS Coordinates for the center of the Lee Chapel lot are 37 deg 47' 11.87" N and 79 deg 26' 31.26" W
From the North, South, or East.
- Travel interstate 81 to Exit 188-B
- Exit onto Route 60 West
- Follow 60W into Lexington (approximately 3 miles)
- At the 6th traffic light, turn right onto Main Street
- Go three blocks, then turn left onto Jefferson
- As you turn onto Jefferson, you will see the rear of Lee Chapel to the right. The Lee Chapel parking lot is located through the brick columns on the right. Other parking is available in the large, adjacent lot or on the street.
From the West
- Travel interstate 64 to Exit 55.
- Turn right onto Route 11 South.
- After you cross the Maury River Bridge, Route 11 will split. Bear right onto Route 11 Business.
- At the fork in the road after you pass the VMI campus, bear right onto Jefferson Street.
- As you turn onto Jefferson, you will see the rear of Lee Chapel to the right. The Lee Chapel parking lot is located through the brick columns on the right. Other parking is available in the large, adjacent lot or on the street.
Note for Motor Coaches
- The Lee Chapel parking lot is not designed to hold large vehicles or motor coaches. Those vehicles should proceed to the Lexington Visitor Center to find proper parking.
