W&L Highlight: The two years I lived in the Spanish House over on Lee Avenue were pretty awesome. And one of the greatest highlights came during our coverage of the 2004 Presidential elections. The real-time newsroom experience of reporting on the results as they came in state by state and interviewing Ham Smith as the political correspondent to give analysis of the results was truly the catalyst for some of the experiences I would have later in my career, including interviewing the 2008 Presidential candidates when they campaigned in South Carolina.

Most Memorable Class: I can't remember the course name but the Broadcasting class with Prof. Artwick when I had to produce the news show left some memorable lessons. And the final course when I teamed up with the guys for the in-depth investigative report on the hospital.

Current Job: Public Relations and Government Affairs Manager for the Columbia Metropolitan Airport. I also do freelance reporting for a local independent news show. Prior to this, I was the Public Affairs coordinator for the S.C. Confederate Relic Room & Military Museum.

Current Life: Life is pretty good these days! I live in Columbia, S.C., where I'm very active in the local young professionals community. This keeps me busy with a variety of things including volunteerism, state and local politics and the arts. I have a wonderful, wonderful boyfriend who is gearing up for a run for the state house of representatives so we're keeping our fingers crossed that he wins.

Latest Accomplishment: Landing this job with the Columbia Metropolitan Airport is an accomplishment that I'm proud of. In this job I'll be in the high profile position of advancing the airport's brand and public outreach efforts.

Where I'll Be in Ten Years: Hopefully a VP of Communications somewhere. It's hard to say exactly where but for now I'm happy here in Columbia.

Last Book Read: A biography on Booker T. Washington

Last Movie Seen: Red Tails

Hobby: Blogging, painting and walking the local trails and River Walks

Favorite Quote: "When somebody shows you who they are, believe them." ~ Maya Angelou

Why I Do What I Do: I love it! I enjoy meeting new people, interacting with the media and developing new and creative strategies for getting a message to the public. I also really like learning and using the latest in social media.

If I Could Do It All Over Again: I would. I firmly believe that every experience that I've had and made me the person that I am and I wouldn't change a thing about it.
