BUILD is a four-year, college preparation program that leverages the power of entrepreneurship to help under-performing, under-resourced, disengaged high-school students not only graduate but ultimately attend college. After nine years of success in California, BUILD opened its first East Coast office in Washington, D.C., in fall 2007. BUILD's expansion to the Metro DC area was born of its three-tiered vision for BUILD to address the devastating education disparity in the U.S., change the face of higher education and ultimately, to radically transform impoverished communities nationwide from the inside out. Elrod Fellows have served as site assistants, supporting programming for student entrepreneurs.
