Leadership Venture

Leadership Pre-Orientation Trip

Leaders: Most incoming W&L students want to be one, but may not be sure where to begin.

This trip will help you understand what leadership is, what it does and doesn't look like, what skills you have and what skills you need to develop. You will learn about different styles of leadership and explore the many paths to becoming a leader. We will highlight the opportunities for leadership on campus and in the community. The trip will include sessions on campus and a multi-day trip to Washington, D.C. to meet and talk with W&L alumni who are leading in all walks of life.

The trip is limited to 12 students, 6 men and 6 women, to provide opportunities for meaningful interaction with each other and with the leaders in D.C. Students will be asked to submit an application (different than the Appalachian Adventure and Volunteer Venture application) highlighting the reasons for their interest in the trip. The deadline to apply for the Leadership Venture trip is Friday, May 17, 2013, through Generals' HQ.
