Activity Insight for Faculty Reporting

Introduction to Activity Insight

Digital Measures' Activity Insight, a new University-wide, Web-based information management system, enables the secure collection, organization, sharing, analysis, and presentation of critical data regarding faculty teaching, scholarship, research, and service activities.

Activity Insight will initially be used to simplify and standardize internal and external data collection and reporting tasks that support institution-wide academic planning, assessment and accreditation efforts.

Individual faculty and certain administrative staff can use Activity Insight to:

  • Record and report research, teaching, and service activities;
  • Generate curriculum vita and faculty activity reports for accreditation, promotion, tenure, performance appraisals, and media surveys;
  • Search for and learn about faculty throughout the institution who share similar research agendas or who are interested in interdisciplinary collaboration;
  • Develop departmental reports to assess workload, grade and course distribution;
  • Store artifacts of faculty work including presentations, syllabi, full-text publications, audio and video recordings of performances;
  • Track general education goals, program goals and learning outcomes.

Activity Insight is customizable to support many other department, college and university level recording and reporting needs. As the program is introduced, the software will be further developed to make it as useful as possible to various user groups.
