A ministry of the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, the Franciscan Center offers a continuum of care, including emergency services, health services, counseling and technology training to help clients become as self-sufficient as possible. The Center operates a food pantry, serves lunch during the week, provides clothing and hygiene supplies, offers outreach to adults living with HIV/AIDS, and manages a technology resource center for those entered in a community job training program. The Franciscan Center would like to help an Elrod Fellow develop leadership skills necessary for running a non-profit agency, including the areas of operations and fundraising.
