Listen to WLUR on Tuesday, October 11, and you'll hear a wide variety of music and talk shows.
That's nothing new for WLUR, which has provided well over four decades of quality original programming to listeners at Washington and Lee and in the Lexington and Rockbridge community. But this Tuesday marks the first-ever College Radio Day, as college and high school stations across the United States, Canada and Jamaica join together to celebrate the important contributions of college radio to the airwaves.
Over 300 stations from across North America will participate in Tuesday's event. WLUR's programming for the special day will be highlighted by the airing of the documentary "College Radio: Its Past, Present & Future" at 7:00 p.m.
College Radio Day was conceived by Rob Quicke, general manager at William Paterson University's WPSC-FM, who cofounded the event with Peter Kreten of Saint Xavier University's WXAV-FM.
