Books for Africa was formed by Logan Gibson '08. In the summer of 2007, Logan received a grant from 100 Progects for Peace to set up a school library in Rwamagana, Rwanda. The library that she founded, in collaboration with the non-governmental organization, Rwanda School Project, is the first library in the twon of Rwamagana. Logan started BFA as a way to raise funds for purchasing and shipping books to the school library in Rwanda.
