
Theodore C. DeLaney, associate professor of history and head of the department at Washington and Lee University, presented the inaugural lecture for the Harry E. and Mary Jane W. Redenbaugh Term Professorship on March 10, 2011.
The title of DeLaney's talk was "School Desegregation in Western Virginia: Life on the Edge of the Last Major Sectional Dispute."
DeLaney, who was named to the Redenbaugh Term Professorship in 2009, is currently working on "Desegregation in Western Virginia Schools and Southern Identity, 1954-1970," a community study of four counties in western Virginia.
