Washington and Lee's strategic plan for the future of global learning is in the first stage of its implementation and a number of the recommendations in the plan are already being realized. The decision to renovate duPont Hall as the new Center for Global Learning has resulted in the formation of a Program Planning committee to develop a vision for the building and its future activities. Other developing areas include: enhanced and improved communication about study abroad, opportunities for faculty, and planning for Spring Term Abroad courses; a proposal for a Faculty Liaison program that will directly link the Center for International Education with faculty members across the disciplines for the purpose of improved advising and evaluation of programs abroad; a collaboration between the CIE and Shepherd Poverty Program that will bring internationalism and service intrest and activities together including a re-definition of the International House and a long-term proposal to place the W&L campus Kitchen in the International House on a permanent basis. An update on these and other areas of implementation can be found on this site.
