The Halle Foundation gave W&L $52,618 to increase the number and diversity of students taking language immersion in Germany, and to add a third location of study. The grant provides financial assistance to 12 students over two years to study at W&L partner universities and stay with host families. The experience is offered during Spring Term. The students gain valuable exposure to culture, history and contemporary issues in addition to getting to know Germans and improving their ability to speak German. Based in Atlanta, the Halle Foundation supports projects that further its mission of promoting knowledge and friendship between the people of Germany and of the United States.
