    Johnson Opportunity Grant Winner Travels to Argentina for Shepherd Alliance Internship
    Kendré Barnes is a Spanish and English major from Omaha, Neb. She traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina to complete a Shepherd Alliance Internship at La Asociación Formoseña/ El Hogar Dr. Maradona, an NGO that houses children and families from the province of Formosa who come to the Buenos Aires to receive medical treatment.

    Johnson Opportunity Grant Winner Interns with Scooter Braun Projects in Los Angeles
    Kelton Buchanan is a Sociology major with a minor in women's and gender studies from Powder Springs, Ga. He traveled to Los Angeles, Ca. to complete an entertainment marketing internship at Scooter Braun Projects, which directly manages the entertainment careers of Asher Roth, The Wanted and Justin Bieber.

    Gina Bufton is a psychology major with a minor in philosophy from Preston, Md. She spent the summer as a research assistant in the Cognitive and Affective Neuropsychology Lab at the University of Michigan.

    Emily Comer is a Literacy and Language Development major from Dallas, Texas. She attended a teacher training day at Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta to study how inner city school children learn.

    Johnson Opportunity Grant Winner Teaches in Ghana
    Annelise Madison is a politics major from Roca, Neb. She spent the summer as a volunteer at Ghana Alliance for Community Transformation (Ghana ACT), working alongside members of the local community of Ho, Ghana, to educate and empower local underprivileged youth by teaching math, English, science and computer skills at a primary school.

    Johnson Opportunity Grant Winner Travels to the Netherlands to Study Art Restoration
    Kathryn Marsh-Soloway is a double major in journalism and mass communications and art history with a double minor in poverty and human capability studies and museum studies. A native of Woodbridge, Conn., she used her Johnson Opportunity Grant to finance a summer performing art conservation and restoration fieldwork in the Netherlands.

    Dillon Myers is a business administration and East Asian Languages and Literature major from Foxborough, Mass. He traveled to Shanghai, China, to complete an internship with Platinum Financial Services.

    Jina Park is a Sociology biology and English major from Duluth, Ga. She traveled to Costa Rica to volunteer at an underserved medical community in Costa Rica, coordinated by International Service Learning.

    Alex Prather is an economics and global politics major from Houston, Texas. She traveled to Bolivia with Engineers Without Borders to create a reservoir that would increase the amount of arable land in the village of Pampoyo.

    Bethany Reynolds is a double major in Chinese and Spanish from Baltimore, Md. She spent the summer taking courses and conducting research at North Carolina State University's Ethnographic Field School in Guatemala.

    Mary Rodriguez is a theater major from Arlington, Texas. She interned in the costume and sound departments of the Casa Mañana Theatre in Fort Worth.

    Zoey Rya is a psychology major from Pohang, South Korea. She traveled to Lower Hutt, New Zealand, to work as a research assistant in positive psychology at the Open Polytechnic University.

    Jon Salm is an English major with a minor in philosophy from Lakeland, Fl. He traveled to New York City to complete an internship with the Business Outcomes division of Peppercom, a leading public relations and strategic communications firm.

    Darby Shuler is a biochemistry major from Columbia, S.C. She participated in a medical mission to Guayaquil, Ecuador with the International Children's Heart Foundation to assist dozens of children with heart defects.

    Eric Shuman is a psychology and politics major from Black Mountain, N.C. He traveled to Bethlehem, Palestine with Palestinian Summer Encounter to volunteer in a rehabilitation center and take Arabic classes.
