About 30 Washington and Lee University students were injured late Friday night when the deck of an off-campus student house collapsed.

Twenty-two students were treated at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital, and 21 had been released Saturday morning. The remaining student was scheduled for surgery on a compound fracture of the ankle today. In addition to the students seen at Stonewall Jackson, several others were treated at the Student Health Center.

Any students who may have been involved in the accident and believe they may need assistance are urged to contact either Student Health or the Dean of Students' office.

The accident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. at a house located at the corner of Furrs Mill and Greenhouse roads. Contrary to some media reports, the accident was not at one of the "pole houses."

University officials are cooperating with local officials and continuing to gather information about the accident.
