  • W&L Football Drops Fourth-Straight, 32-19, to Bridgewater
    Bridgewater College racked up 424 yards of total offense and reeled off 25 straight points en route to a 32-19 victory over Washington and Lee in ODAC football action on Saturday afternoon at Jopson Field.
  • W&L Football Falls to Guilford, 34-27
    Washington and Lee senior running back Stuart Sitterson (Atlanta, Ga./Westminster) tallied 323 all-purpose yards and one touchdown, but it was not enough as the Generals dropped their third-straight game with a 34-27 loss to Guilford on Saturday afternoon at Wilson Field.

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced its 2009 Preseason Football Poll at the league's annual media day held on Friday morning at the Salem Civic Center.
  • April 17, 2009: W&L Announces 2009 Athletic Hall of Fame Class
    Washington and Lee University has announced the 22nd class to be inducted into its Athletic Hall of Fame. The class includes Gibby McSpadden '56, Glenn Kirschner '84, Rebekah Prince '96 and Nathan Hottle '97. The group will be recognized at the Athletic Hall of Fame dinner on Fri., Sept. 11 and at the Generals' football game against Sewanee on Sat., Sept. 12.
  • April 16, 2009: Numerous W&L Students Earn Scholar-Athlete Awards
    Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that 172 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed winter term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.

    National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell will hold a conversation about leadership in sports at Washington and Lee University on Tuesday, April 21, at 7 p.m.
  • April 2, 2009: W&L Names Brendan O'Brien Assistant Football Coach
    Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced the appointment of Brendan O'Brien as assistant football coach and assistant professor of physical education. O'Brien will officially begin his duties on May 1.
  • April 1, 2008: W&L Announces 2008 Athletic Hall of Fame Class
    Washington and Lee University has announced the 21st class to be inducted into its Athletic Hall of Fame. The class includes Dave Warfield '75, Jack Berry '76, Andrew White '88, Beth Stutzmann '90 and the 1961 Football Team. The group will be recognized at the Athletic Hall of Fame dinner on Friday, Oct. 17, and at the Generals' football game against Hampden-Sydney on Sat., Oct. 18.
