W&L Riding In Action at ODAC Championship The Washington and Lee riding team competed in the 2009 Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship on Friday afternoon at the Hollins University Riding Center sponsored by Dover Saddlery. The Generals finished in fifth place with nine points. Sophomore Allison Lemon (Roanoke, Va./North Cross School) and first-year Tamara Morse (Bristow, Va./Brentsville District Mid-Senior) were tabbed to the all-conference team.
W&L Riding Competes at UVA IHSA Invitational The Washington and Lee women’s riding team competed in the University of Virginia IHSA Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The Generals finished ninth out of 10 teams and had two individuals garner fifth-place markings. Senior Yugi Huang (Lawrenceville, Ga./Collins Hill) recorded a fifth-place finish in the walk-trot, while sophomore Allison Lemon (Roanoke, Va./North Cross School) finished fifth in the over fences. The Blue and White return to action this afternoon at the IHSA Regional.
W&L Riding Records an Eighth Place Finish at the IHSA Regionals The Washington and Lee riding team was in action at the IHSA Region IV Zone 2 Regional hosted by the University of Virginia on Sunday afternoon. The Generals recorded an eighth place overall mark and had two riders notch fifth-place finishes. W&L was led by sophomores Caitlin McCurdy (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) and Allison Lemon (Roanoke, Va./North Cross School). McCurdy placed fifth in the walk-trot-canter, while Lemon finished fifth in the intermediate flat. The Blue and White return to action on Sat., Feb. 28 at the Virginia Intermont Collegiate Cup at 7:00 pm.
April 16, 2009: Numerous W&L Students Earn Scholar-Athlete Awards Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that 172 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed winter term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.

March 20, 2009: W&L Participating In National Sportsmanship Day The Institute for International Sport is holding a National Sportsmanship Day and Washington and Lee will participate on Saturday. The Generals will celebrate the day with home events in men's and women's tennis, men's and women's lacrosse and baseball.
