Gaines Hall is the newest of our residential facilities and the only one that has central air conditioning. It is located between the BDG (Baker-Davis-Gilliam) Quad, the Lenfest Center/Wilson Hall and the gym, at the corner of Nelson and Washingon Streets.
With four floors, it is the only suite-style residence hall on campus. The building is coed, but each suite is single-sex, as are many of the halls. Each hall has a resident adviser (RA), a peer counselor, and themed decorations for the year. Each suite has between 2 and 4 bedrooms, housing a maximum of five students, a shared common room (in three- and four-bedroom suites) and a bathroom inside the suite. The entire building has both ethernet and wireless connections to the Internet.

COMMON ROOMS
In each common room you will find a couple of chairs and a couch as well as a wall outlet for the University's free cable TV service. The common rooms are also carpeted.
BATHROOMS
There is a large wall mirror in the bathroom, along with sinks, a shower and a toilet. Since Gaines is a suite-style dorm, residents must clean their own bathrooms with their own cleaning supplies. A vacuum is also a good idea, since all of the rooms are carpeted. Toilet paper is provided in the storage closet of your suite.
ADDITIONAL SPACES
There are a couple of communal kitchens in Gaines and s well as a a computer lab on the second floor which has a printer that can be used by any student. The laundry room is on the ground level with several washers ($1.25/load) and dryers ($1.25/load), which accept either quarters or general debit on your University Card.
