When I walk the campus each morning, I take note of the well-tended grounds and the beauty of the campus. I know the appearance of our campus doesn't just happen. It is the result of hard work throughout the year by our dedicated employees in Facilities Management.
For the last month or two, the reminders of their dedication have been even more apparent. The weather this winter has not been kind to any of us. And it has certainly not been kind to those who have had to shovel our walkways, plow our streets, clean the hallways, and put salt on the steps to melt the ice. On behalf of the entire University community, I extend our deepest appreciation for all the early morning and weekend efforts on our behalf.
When I get to the office these days, I work harder and hopefully better, knowing that I couldn't even get to the office were it not for the work of our employees in Facilities Management. They set an inspiring example for all of us and we are grateful.
