Dr. Scott Swartzwelder is a Professor of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience at Duke University. He directs a research program dedicated to understanding the effects of alcohol and other drugs on the adolescent and young adult brain, and has co-authored several books on those topics for broad, non-scientific audiences. He returns to W&L to speak about both the short-term and long-term effects of alcohol on brain function during these critical times in brain development, and to update us on the latest research from his laboratory.
