

HANOVER, Ind. -- The Washington and Lee men's cross country team finished 16th out of 20 teams at the Hanover Pre-Nationals Invitational on Saturday morning.
Senior Michael Welsh (Tullahoma, Tenn./Tullahoma) led the charge for the Generals with a 34th-place finish out of 230 runners with a time of 26:37.86. Classmate Vance Berry (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Episcopal) crossed the finish line in 55th place (26:58.25), while senior Alex Jackson (Centreville, Va./Westfield) finished 103rd overall with a time of 27:54.01. First-year Robert Warneford-Thomson (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal) placed 116th (28:17.07) and sophomore Jack Ivy (Memphis, Tenn./White Station) finished in 123rd place with a time of 28:25.85.
The Generals return to action on October 18 as they compete in the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble beginning at 10:30 am.
