At Washington and Lee some Outing Club members have the unique opportunity to live in the Outing Club House. Located in the heart of Davidson Park just across from the Lexington Visitors Center, the House comes with all the benefits of on-campus housing as well as with the responsibility of representing the Outing Club. Those most active in the club realize the greatest advantages of living here.
There are 4 bedrooms in the house: 2 doubles and 2 singles. The Outing Club Director also maintains an auxiliary office on the second floor, which is staffed on weekdays by the student equipment managers.
Throughout the year, the Outing Club House is used for presentations and speakers and is also the location for launching many of our trips. The Outing Club House holds 90% of the club's equipment for all of our trips which range from fly-fishing and backpacking to climbing and kayaking. Common spaces to the house include a large family room, front porch with rocking chairs and swing, dining room, bathroom and kitchen. We've also got an indoor climbing wall, bike workshop, kayak and boat storage area, excursion food prep area, and equipment room.
