NuclearEd: A Powerful Resource for Educators

Energy and education are two of the most pressing issues of today. Following in the footsteps of the ALSOS Digital Library for Nuclear Issues, NuclearEd was conceived of as a resource for K-12 teachers and students on various energy sources, with nuclear power of particular importance. Like ALSOS, NuclearEd provides third-party resources from a wide variety of sources. Unlike ALSOS, however, NuclearEd provides a wide variety of quickly-accessible and easily-applicable educational media on the web. Search functions are designed to quickly provide educators with relevant resources; the search results have notes on content and utility. Furthermore, all entries meet a high standard of quality, saving time over search engine results. Through NuclearEd, Washington and Lee, together with the National Energy Education Development program (NEED), provides an outreach effort for K-12 educators and students for information about a variety of topics related to nuclear power.
