Washington and Lee University
Emmy Mathews ('11), a double major in Philosophy and Business Administration, has been awarded the Edward Lee Pinney Prize for 2009 by W&L.
The Edward Lee Pinney Prize was established in 1981 in memory of Dr. Edward L. Pinney, who was Professor of Politics at Washington and Lee for 17 years. The prize is awarded annually to an undergraduate student who demonstrates extraordinary commitment both to personal scholarship and to the nurturing of intellectual life at Washington and Lee. The prize is awarded by the Student Affairs Committee of Washington and Lee University.
