After graduating from W&L, where he earned degrees in both mathematics and business administration as well as four varsity letters in baseball (while leading the team in hitting twice), Matthew Kozora completed a master's program in Quantitative and Computational Finance at Georgia Tech. While pursuing his master's degree, he supported himself by working as a teaching assistant for Tech's Department of Mathematics.
Matt is currently a Ph.D. student in Finance at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business. At times over the previous few years he has taught undergraduate courses for the Smith School. His principal current research interest is the effect corporate events have on shareholder investment horizon.
After he earns his Ph.D., he will seek an academic position at a college or university.
Matt reports, "The education I received at W&L has helped me tremendously. In particular, the skills I developed from the Fundamental Concepts of Mathematics course and Real Analysis courses helped me with upper level coursework and my own research."
