Indirect Cost Allowance (ICA) |
W&L has two distinct indirect cost rates for federal grants. The indirect rate for activities conducted on the W&L campus is 51.6% of the associated salaries, wages, and fringe benefits that are part of the award. The indirect rate for activities conducted away from the W&L campus is 22.2% of the associated salaries, wages, and fringe benefits that are part of the award. Foundations and other agencies usually have their own limits, and in most cases do not allow any ICA. When a grant does have an indirect cost allowance, the distribution is 40% for the Dean, 40% for the department and 20% for VP Finance. |
