Washington Hall W38Sydney has held various positions in development, fund-raising, research, and related fields for education organizations in Washington, DC and New York City. Most recently, she worked in institutional advancement at The After-School Corporation (TASC), the first nonprofit organization in the nation to build a citywide K-12 after-school system. At TASC, Sydney developed proposals and pursued funding opportunities to enhance the quality, availability and sustainability of comprehensive after-school programs in New York City, New York State and nationally. Sydney holds a bachelor's degree in English from Georgetown University and earned a master's degree in Sociology and Education, Education Policy from the Teachers College at Columbia University. At Columbia, her research focused on federal and state policies aimed to improve access to quality education.
