Professional Development Opportunities for the World Language Educator
The Foreign Language Teachers Workshop Series (FLTSW) continues its series under the umbrella of the Foreign Language Association of Virginia (FLAVA) during the winter and spring terms of 2013. Four workshops are slated beginning in January and continuing through April.
Workshops fall under the tutelage of the Virginia Foreign Language Professional Development Framework with special emphasis being placed on the Teacher Effectiveness for Language Learning (TELL) Project. Topics selected for this spring's workshops are direct results of teacher-expressed needs and desires revealed through discussions and surveys conducted in the fall of 2012.
The workshops will be broadcasted from the Tucker Multimedia Center on the campus of Washington and Lee University to select schools, school divisions, community colleges, colleges, and universities across the state and beyond. Times of workshops/ broadcasts will always be from 4:00 - 6:00 PM ET on workshop days.
Registration for the workshops is now open and will continue throughout the spring term. Inquiries about the workshops should be directed to Dick Kuettner, workshop organizer and Professional Development Chair for FLAVA , at profdev@flavaweb.org .
