Washington and Lee University junior Samantha Copping, who is majoring in classics, tutored five Lexington grade school boys in ancient Greek through the academic year. WVTF reporter Sandy Hausman joined the tutoring session at the Lexington Coffee Shop one day this spring and filed a report that ran on the Roanoke-based public radio station.
Hausman spoke with several of the young students and their parents plus Kevin Crotty, professor of classics who had orginally gotten the request for tutors in the subject.
