Tuesday, September 22nd from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Study Abroad Fair - Stemmons Plaza - an opportunity to talk to faculty leading Spring Term Abroad programs.
OCTOBER
Thursday, October 22nd (Stackhouse Theater) General information meeting, preceded by adequate publicity, for all students interested in any spring-term program. All spring-term directors should be present and must have available for distribution the completed Information for Students form. There will be individual break-away sessions with the program directors in classrooms designated in Huntley, Reid and Science Halls.
Thursday, October 29th - Deadline for students to submit Student Application to CIE and to notify Financial Aid if they seek assistance for spring term.
NOVEMBER
Monday, November 2nd - CIE sends applications of students who have applied for their program to Faculty Directors.
Friday, November 6th - Students notified by Program Director of acceptance to program; roster of accepted students sent by Program Directors to CIE and by CIE to Financial Aid. This is the deadline for all program directors to submit final individual student budget sheets for their program to Financial Aid Office and to the CIE.
During Thanksgiving break - Award notification to students by Financial Aid Office, which also sends rosters of students receiving financial aid to program directors and the CIE.
DECEMBER
December 1st - Students submit fully signed Agreement of Responsible Travel form and deposit of $250 to CIE, refundable only in case of medical emergency or if the program is canceled. If a student is on full financial aid for the course, no deposit is necessary. All students are committed to the full program cost following the schedule below as of Jan. 16, again only to be waived or refunded in case of medical emergency or program cancellation. Remaining payments should be scheduled in the following increments directly to the Business Office: 1/3 by Jan. 31, 1/3 by Feb. 28 and 1/3 by Mar. 31. All payments should be made payable to 'Washington & Lee University, Spring Term Abroad Program' and must indicate on the check 'item line' the course number and program director name
December 8th CIE gets updated roster to the Financial Aid Office and to the Business Office.
JAN. 2010
January 15 - ‘Drop-dead date' for students to withdraw from program without incurring full financial obligation.
MARCH
March: Dates to be decided: Pre-departure orientation meeting for all Spring Term Abroad students organized by the CIE.
