W&L Women's Tennis Gains First-Round Bye in NCAA's

Will Play Host to First Three Rounds

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. • May 4, 2009
The 2009 Division III Women's Tennis Team Championship bracket was released on Monday and Washington and Lee received a first-round bye.

In addition to receiving a first-round bye, W&L was selected as a host school and will host the first three rounds of the championship.

The Generals (19-4), who qualified for the tournament by virtue of its seventh-straight ODAC Championship, will face the winner of the Meredith (17-3)/Gwynedd-Mercy (15-2) match on Saturday at the W&L Courts.

Emory (18-4) will take on the winner of Agnes Scott (13-1)/Grove City (14-4) in Saturday's other match with round three to conclude on Sunday.

The final rounds of the 2009 NCAA National Championship will be hosted by Oglethorpe University at the Collins Hill Athletic Club in Lawrenceville, Ga., on May 19-21.
