The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced its Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 19 and Washington and Lee sophomore midfielder Emmy Mathews (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) grabbed the honor in women's lacrosse.

Mathews led the 14th-ranked Generals to a 2-0 week. She tallied a hat trick in a 15-4 victory over Guilford on Tuesday, before notching a game-high four goals in a 13-9 triumph over Colorado College on Saturday. On the season, Mathews leads the team in scoring with 42 points on 35 goals and seven assists.

W&L (11-4, 7-1) enters the 2009 ODAC tournament as the second seed and received a first-round bye. The Generals will play the winner of the sixth-seeded Guilford/third-seeded Randolph-Macon game in a semifinal match-up on Saturday at 3:00 pm at host Roanoke College.
