The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced its Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 29 and Washington and Lee grabbed the honors in men's tennis, women's tennis and women's track & field.

First-year Michael Freeman (Portland, Ore./Jesuit) received the award in men's tennis, senior Katie Tabb (Minneapolis, Minn./Edina) was the women's tennis honoree and senior Becca Taylor (Hamilton, Ohio/Edgewood) was the women's track & field awardee.

Freeman helped lead the Generals men's tennis team to a 3-0 week by winning all three of his singles matches and both of his doubles matches. He posted wins at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles in a 9-0 win over Lynchburg on Tuesday, then notched a victory at No. 6 singles in a 6-3 win over Averett on Friday. He came back on Sunday to log wins at No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles in a 7-2 victory over Swarthmore. For the season, Freeman is 16-8 in singles and 5-5 in doubles.

Tabb helped the women's tennis team to a 6-1 record on the week, including wins over 13th-ranked Middlebury and 16th-ranked DePauw. The lone loss was a 5-4 setback to top-ranked Williams. For the week, Tabb posted a 2-1 record at No. 1 singles and teamed with junior Lauren Caire (Nashville, Tenn./Harpeth Hall) to go 3-0 at No. 1 doubles. On the season, Tabb has posted a 14-4 singles mark and has teamed with Caire to post an 11-5 overall mark. For her career, she is 80-24 in singles and 93-19 in doubles. Her 93 doubles wins are tied for fourth all-time at W&L.

Taylor received the women's track & field honor after placing first overall out of seven athletes that participated in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the W&L-VMI Carnival held in Lexington, Va., over the weekend. She finished with a time of 11:37.98 that smashed the previous W&L and ODAC records. Her time was 21 seconds faster than the previous school record and 13.5 seconds better than the previous ODAC mark.
