  • Isaac Webb '13
    Russian Area Studies Major Awarded Fulbright Research Grant
    Isaac Webb '13, a Russian Area Studies Major, received a Fulbright Grant to conduct research in Ukraine. He will be examining the disability policy there in an attempt to understand the ways in which the rights of the disabled have changed or, conversely, have not changed since the collapse of the Soviet Union. He will contextualize this research within the international human rights movement.

    German Major Receives Johnson Opportunity Grant
    Ginger Sun '13, a German major, received a Johnson Opportunity Grant to do math research this summer. She will then attend the Budapest Mathematics Semesters program (BSM) in Hungary, BSM is the most prestigious international program for undergraduate students of mathematics.

    German Student Recipient of the Lena T. Stevens Award
    Lauren Schultz '13, a German minor, will be attending Stanford next year to pursue a PhD in geology. Lauren is the recipient of the Lena T. Stevens Award for graduating geology majors to help cover graduate school expenses
  • Katie Jarrell '14
    German Major to Work With Shepherd Internship Program
    Katie Jarrell '14, a German major, is doing an internship with the Shepherd Internship Program working to benefit disadvantaged communities and members of society. Katie will be working at the Delta Area Health Education Center in Helena, Arizona, where she will serve for eight weeks.

    Winner of the Prestigious Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship
    Andrew Seredinski '14, a German minor, is a recent winner of the prestigious the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, the nation's premier scholarship for undergraduates studying math, natural sciences and engineering.

    German major - Exchange Student at the University of Bayreuth
    Jackson Buttery '14, both German majors, will be exchange students at the University of Bayreuth in Bayreuth, Germany for the Summer 2013 semester.

    Sommer Ireland '15, German major will be an exchange student at the University of Bayreuth in Bayreuth, Germany for the Summer 2013 semester.
  • Curtis Correll '15
    German major, was named an R.E. Lee Scholar
    Curtis Correll, a German major, was named an R.E. Lee Scholar and received a Johnson Opportunity Grant to do research on the social and commercial impact of nanotechnology in Germany. He will be working with Professor Youngman and Dr. Ljiljana Fruk of the Center for Functional Nanostructures at the Karslruhe Institute of Technology in Karlsruhe, Germany.
  • Trip Cole '14,
    German Minor to Receive Summer Study Grant
    Trip Cole, a German minor, has received a prestigious Summer Study Grant from the German Academic Exchange Service (www.daad.org). Trip will be using his grant to spend the Summer 2013 semester at the University of Bayreuth in Bayreuth, Germany. He will be studying "Business Communication in Germany" and "Language and Society in Modern Germany".
