Washington and Lee first-year Jeremy Becht (Woodstock, Ga./Etowah) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Player of the Week for men's tennis for the week ending February 22.

Becht helped lead the Generals to a 2-1 week by posting a 3-0 record at No. 5 singles and a 2-1 mark at No. 3 doubles.

Becht did not drop a game in straight-set wins (6-0, 6-0) over Brian Butler of Emory & Henry and Brandon Johnson of Guilford. He also knocked off Watson George of Division I Furman by a score of 6-4, 6-3.

In doubles, Becht teamed with classmate Michael Freeman (Portland, Ore./Jesuit) to post wins against teams from Emory & Henry (8-3) and Guilford (8-0). However, the duo fell to a tandem from Furman, 8-1.

For the season, Becht is 11-3 in singles and 4-5 in doubles. As a team, the Generals are 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the ODAC. W&L is ranked 19th in the ITA Division III rankings.
