John A. Allison IV, chairman of the Board of Directors for BB&T Corporation and former CEO, will be the Williams School Executive-In-Residence at Washington and Lee University and will give a speech on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 4:30 p.m. in Huntley Hall, room 327.
The title of Allison's talk is "Principled Leadership." The talk is free and open to the public.
Allison, a member of BB&T's executive and risk management committee in Lewisville, N. C., is a board member of the Wake Forest University Medical Center, the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Clemson Institute for the Study of Capitalism. He also is a member of the American Bankers Association and the Financial Services Roundtable.
Allison earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from Duke University. He holds honorary doctorates from East Carolina University, Mount Olive College, Clemson University and Marymount University. He is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.
