
The Office of Communications and Public Affairs is charged with communicating information about Washington and Lee to both internal and external audiences via the media, official University publications and the Web.
The News Office serves as the main point of contact between the College and the news media, assisting journalists with inquiries about the University and working to publicize University events, programs, and people in various media outlets and through our Web site. The executive director of communications and public affairs serves as the University spokesperson.
We welcome the opportunity to share stories about the Washington and Lee community. We also welcome your comments and suggestions about news for the media or to include in our various print and digital communications. Please contact us with your stories and ideas.
The Publications Office is responsible for major university publications including W&L, the University's alumni magazine, W&L Law, the law alumni magazine, the Annual Report, the W&L catalog and Shenandoah: The Washington and Lee Literary Review. Our staff is also available to assist on-campus constituents with other writing, design and photography projects, including brochures, posters and other publications.
The Web Team is responsible for the University's Web site, including the development of new electronic tools such as blogs and wikis. The team maintains W&L's official YouTube site and is also responsible for distribution of the monthly electronic newsletter, Generally Speaking.
