The Washington and Lee men's swimming team was picked 19th out of 25 teams in the initial Division III dual rankings, which were recently released by CollegeSwimming.com.

The Generals amassed 200 points in the poll and rank behind top-ranked Kenyon, who collected 13 first-place votes and 620 points. Emory ranks second with 11 first-place votes and 592 points, while Denison (580), Johns Hopkins with one first-place vote and 557 points, Washington (460), St. Olaf (438), Williams (419), The College of New Jersey (351), Grove City (342), UW-Stevens Point (311), New York (287), Hope (267), Middlebury (257), Carnegie Mellon (250), Kalamazoo (233), Chicago (233), MIT (211) and DePauw (205) follow closely behind. After W&L, Gustavus Adolphus (190), Amherst (169), Tufts (105), Luther (100), Carthage (86) and SUNY Geneseo (64) round out the Top 25.

W&L is currently 7-0 overall and has already emerged victorious over No.14 Carnegie Mellon (156.5-105.5) and No. 18 DePauw (155-139).

The Generals return to the pool on Dec. 13-15 at the Cal-Lutheran Invitational.
