W&L Men's Lacrosse Improves to 8-0 With an 18-9 Win Over Greensboro

LEXINGTON, Va. - Seventh-ranked Washington and Lee had 13 different players score a goal en route to an 18-9 win over Greensboro College in men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at Wilson Field. The win improved W&L to 8-0 on the season, the program's best start since beginning the 2001 campaign with an 11-0 record.

Greensboro (6-2) jumped out to a 2-1 lead with 8:36 left in the opening period, but the Generals responded with the game's next 11 goals, including two each from senior attackman Seth Fishman (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Haverford) and sophomore attackman Spence Daw (Phoenix, Md./Loyola-Blakefield), to assume a 12-2 lead with 8:49 left in the penultimate quarter.

The Pride answered back by scoring five of the game's next seven goals, including two each from junior midfielder Brian Kirschner (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) and sophomore defenseman Brandon Savage (Dover, Del./Dover), to make it a 14-7 game with 7:04 remaining, but GC could get no closer as the Generals scored three more times in the final 2:40 en route to the nine-goal final score.

Fishman paced W&L with three goals, while senior midfielder Harry St. John (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) and Daw had two goals and one assist each. Junior attackman Will Keigler (Timonium, Md./Gilman) added one goal and two assists to surpass the 100-career point plateau (101 pts.).

Senior Connor Locke (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) played the first 56:22 in goal and posted eight saves against seven goals allowed. Sophomore Ned Lundvall (Richmond, Va,/Gilman) played the final 3:38 and allowed a pair of scores.

Kirschner, Savage and junior midfielder Nick Patrone (Supply, N.C./Apex) all had two goals to lead the Pride. Senior goalie Mike Foderaro (Salisbury, N.C./Parkside) logged all 60 minutes between the pipes and notched 16 saves.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Tuesday as it takes on 10th-ranked Middlebury at Catholic University at 4:30 pm.
