The NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Committee announced the field for the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament on Monday morning.
The Washington and Lee volleyball team, fresh off its eighth-straight ODAC Tournament win, will participate in a regional to be hosted by Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.
The Generals (31-6) square off against Mt. St. Joseph (28-10), winners of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, on Thursday at 1:00 pm. W&L and Mt. St. Joseph met earlier this season, with the Generals taking a 3-1 contest back on Nov. 1. Set scores for the match were 26-24, 20-25, 25-16, 25-16.
Other pairings in the regional include Washington-St. Louis (30-6) vs. Frostburg St. (29-5), Ohio Northern (30-4) vs. Westminster (Pa.) (24-10) and Wittenberg (32-2) vs. Muskingum (23-6).
Should W&L win its opening match, it would face the winner of the Washington-St. Louis vs. Frostburg St. match on Friday. Wash. U. is the defending National Champion, having defeated Wisconsin-Whitewater, 3-2, in last season's title match.
