In an effort to give back to the community, the Washington and Lee women's cross country team will be hosting a running clinic for girls ages 6-14 in the greater Lexington area on Saturday morning at Wilson Field.

The program entitled "Run Like a Girl" is free to the public and will be held from 9:00 am - 10:30 am. The goals of the program are to educate girls on nutrition, stretching, hydration and recovery so that they can properly utilize running to increase self-esteem, develop the ability to work with others and boost fitness levels.

"This clinic will be a great introduction to running for young girls," said W&L Head Women's Cross Country Coach Kris Hoey. "Girls at this age respond well to concrete role models and the members of the women's cross country team can provide them with positive lessons about running and life." Free T-Shirts with the "Run Like a Girl" logo will be provided and workouts will take place on the Wilson Field Track and the Dick Miller Cross Country Course. For more information or to preregister (to guarantee a T-Shirt of your size), please contact Kris Hoey at (540) 458-8679 or hoeyk@wlu.edu.
