W&L’S Doornbos In Action At Division III NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships
Stacy DoornbosMARIETTA, Ohio. -- Washington and Lee senior Stacy Doornbos (Roswell, Ga./Lassiter) competed in the first day of the heptathlon on Thursday afternoon at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Marietta College at the Don Drumm Stadium. After day one, Doornbos sits in third place with 2,876 points.
Doornbos began her two-day competition by posting a school-record time of 14.82 in the 100 meter hurdles. She then cleared 1.55 meters in the high jump and tossed 10.38 meters in the shot put. She completed the first day with a time of 26.22 in the 200 meter dash.
Doornbos will resume action on Friday at 12:00 pm in day two of the heptathlon. She will compete in the long jump, javelin and 800 meters.
