W&L’s Doornbos Earns All-America Honors at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Seniors Stacy Doornbos (Roswell, Ga./Lassiter) and Elizabeth Webb (Middleburg, Va./Wakefield) were in action at the Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Rose-Hulman Sports and Recreation Center in Terre Haute, Ind. on Friday afternoon.  Doornbos became the first W&L woman track athlete to garner All-America honors in the indoor season.

Doornbos placed fourth in the pentathlon with 3,390 total points.  She ran 8.81 in the 55-meters, cleared 1.48 meters in the high jump, tossed a personal-best 10.43 meters in the shot put, leaped 5.47 meters in the long jump and crossed the finish line in a personal-best time of 2:27.08 in the 800 meters.

Webb competed in the mile and advanced to the finals with a seventh-place mark, running 5:01.36.

Webb will run in the finals on Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Rose-Hulman Sports and Recreation Center in Terre Haute, Ind.
